Minera y Constructora Río Grande SpA is a family-owned Chilean contractor, founded in 2004 in Concepción and headquartered in Santiago. It has carried out projects for public agencies and private clients in all 16 regions of Chile.
About us
Juan Andrés del Río Bustamante founded Río Grande in 2004 in Concepción, in the Biobío Region, after working in the industry with other companies. Counting those years, the family has been in the business for more than 25 years. Río Grande became a joint-stock company (SpA) in 2020 and moved its head office to Santiago in 2021.
The company has completed more than 400 projects for government agencies and private clients. It is listed in the Contractors Registry of the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) and in the National Contractors Registry of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (MINVU).
The management team, Pablo del Río (General Manager), Nicolás del Río (Projects Manager) and Domingo del Río (Planning Manager), deals directly with each client, from tender to final acceptance of the works.
Services
Demolition
Buildings, housing blocks, stadiums and industrial structures, handed over as a clear site. Rodent control comes first; asbestos is removed under a work plan approved by the health authority (SEREMI de Salud), and debris goes to authorised disposal sites.

River and channel works
Desilting and channelling of rivers and streams, rock revetments and flood defences, for the Directorate of Hydraulic Works (DOH) of the Ministry of Public Works and for municipalities. Río Grande has completed more than 200 hydraulic works.
Civil and road works
Construction and refurbishment of schools, sports facilities, hospitals and housing. Road maintenance and paving for the Roads Directorate of the Ministry of Public Works, SERVIU and private clients.
